About Liza

Liza Foley is a New England painter whose atmospheric coastal paintings explore the restorative connection between nature and inner peace.

Her work is rooted in her own healing journey. After experiencing multiple concussions and lingering symptoms, Liza found that time by the ocean brought a sense of calm and clarity she struggled to access elsewhere. Drawn to that restorative feeling, she moved to the coast and began creating paintings that capture the quiet, spacious feeling she finds by the sea.

Through softened horizons, atmospheric light, and expansive water, Liza creates paintings that invite the viewer to pause, exhale, and experience a sense of peace in their own space.

Liza studied painting at Boston University’s College of Fine Arts. She has held multiple solo exhibitions, including at the Gallery of the Mayor of Boston, and exhibited regularly at SoWa in Boston. Her work is held in private collections around the world and is currently represented by Lille Gallery in Wellfleet, Massachusetts.

Liza lives and works on Cape Ann, drawing continued inspiration from the coastlines of Cape Ann and Cape Cod.
